What I've learned since my re-brand.

It's been just over 6-months since 'Fighting Fit Devon' became 'Total Mind and Body Wellness.'

I've been sat having a think about what's happened in the last 6-months. Has it gone to plan? Have I achieved all I wanted to? What could I have done better? What did I do right?

When you do something like this, you have to be PATIENT - my re-brand was only in November, and I did move my entire business and lost about 2/3rds of it only a year before. I cannot expect too much from myself and the business, but the very nature of me makes me impatient, I want immediate success!

I have had to work so very hard at marketing all over again, even harder than before when my business name and brand was established in South Devon.

There are so many social media platforms to post on! It takes ages. And I find some more enjoyable than others. I don't tend to 'hang around' on social media, I tend to get on and get back off fast, except for Twitter (Can't get the hang of calling it X yet!) I like Twitter, always have done, thing is, I have never really got much work from it, it does seem purely social.

I am also loving TikTok! I said I would never use it, that it's just for kids and adults who use it are exhibitionists and needy! And now I use it all the time, being the exhibitionist I am!

LinkedIn is a bit more serious, and I feel a bit of a fraud using it, or maybe just the classroom rebel, I can't quite explain it, I feel like I'm not grown up enough yet for it, I really have to push myself to use it.

The biggest social network that works for me is the local one, the word of mouth network. It's always been the best for my business, so my local business is boosted, but it's not working for all the online work I really want to get in other locations. BUT, I have to be thankful for the new North Devon community that I live in for sharing what I do with each other, for recommending me to friends and family, it really has helped a lot.

My re-branding WAS needed, and is a success so far, even this early on. The softer approach to what I do has made me bring in the right sort of client for what I do. People are already recognising my new logo on socials and relating it back to me.

Although I do 'all the things' they are now perfectly blended into the new brand, rather than seeming like 'bits and pieces' they are now all part of the whole person wellness package, What I do is now being seen as a comprehensive wellness brand.

I look at personal trainers on social media and I see them selling just one thing on their profiles - exercise, maybe some also talk about nutrition, some only talk about nutrition, the posts are all the same, as mine used to be. I think now, if only they were doing more for their clients. If only they were helping those people at the root of their food addiction, or self-destructive routines. And now, I'm happy that I can do this, with hypnotherapy I can start the journey properly for my clients. It feels good.

So far, my re-brand has done what I hoped it would, or maybe all my hard work, belief in myself and my idea has paid off? If you want something enough, it will happen. Hard work is a thing, and thankfully it's not something I'm scared of. In fact, I relish it if I know that something good will come of it for everyone.

Recently, some of my fitness class participants have sought help from massage and reflexology, to help heal muscular and tendon issues that have been niggling them. (not my doing, previous injuries!) It was lovely to be able to help them heal so they can enjoy exercising properly again, so now they can enjoy the class and all the fitness opportunity it offers.

Total Mind and Body Wellness works! I am loving it, word is spreading, even if it's only locally for now, and my next move is to encourage more external online work.

Six months have passed, and I reckon I am on track to making my re-branded business as good as Fighting Fit Devon was, if not even bigger and better!
