Simplicity
IN what respect I hear you ask?
I suppose it could be in all respects, because when you over-complicate any area of your life you run the risk of not doing any of your tasks properly.
BUT for today, I am talking about your journey to mental and physical health and wellness. That sounds complex in itself, so let's say, simplify your health with a holistic approach.
CHANGE only one thing at a time.
CLIENTS will suddenly want to get on their health and wellness journey and they are enthusiastic, they want it all straight away and I know only too well that it takes a lot of time and patience to get results. But they change their food, add supplements, exercise, do everything at once, and never really know what part of it is working for them.
When someone comes to me, firstly I say, 'how much water do you drink?' and 90% (maybe more) of people say to me, 'not enough!' So their one change for that week, nothing else, is to drink more water, that's it!
The next week, I ask about food, how much processed food do you eat? If they eat bread, I tell them to not eat bread for that week. That is the one change.
By week three, they are not daunted by making another change, they are ready for the next one, they are already drinking more water, not eating bread, so I say, this week, do 15,000 steps a day, every day. And because it's not another diet-related change, they are happy.
And so this goes on every week, one change at a time, slowly moving towards a healthier lifestyle, without having a massive impact of change on their life, it's easy, small steps lead to great things over time. And changing to a healthier life does take time, this way the changes are less noticeable but have more impact because they are sustainable.
CHANGE is easy when it's SIMPLE!
MAKE one change this week, let me know what it is. Good luck on your journey.
