Why I LOVE my job.
HOW many of us can say that we really love going to work?
WELL I am one of the lucky ones, I love what I do for a living, I chose to do it after all, so I should do.
TODAY'S blog is all about the things I consider to be most beneficial, and I am listing ten of those things.
ONE.
I am my own BOSS! I answer to only myself, and although I can be a bit of a taskmaster at times, I only have myself to blame for it!
TWO.
I get to work around my other responsibilities. I get to walk my own dogs twice a day, instead of a dog walker doing it for me like some people have to. It's the joy of having a dog, the walking bit, and I get this pleasure all to myself. I also manage to prepare and cook food for myself and my husband, do the housework and all the other things so that we can live a less hectic life.
THREE.
I don't have to go anywhere for work most of the time as 75% of my work is virtual and can be done at home. NO sitting in Devon's holiday traffic for hours on end.
FOUR.
IN the other 25% of the time I'm not at home working I get to travel to new places to people's homes for the therapy side of my business. It's a proper little adventure out.
FIVE.
I get to meet new people all the time when they come for therapy with me. And actually over the years these new people become friends, which is great.
SIX.
I get to choose how my week is planned out. I like a mix of fitness and therapy, it gives a little bit of variety to a day, and so this is usually how I work it. Start the day with some fitness, bit of massage, more fitness and a class, then more massage or hypnotherapy. Variety keeps it exciting for me.
SEVEN.
When I am doing massage or hypnotherapy, I get to chill out myself, treating people to a massage, with all the wonderful oils really relaxes me, even when I am working, and when I am doing hypnotherapy, I get into the same kind of head space as my client, so I am very very relaxed. It saves me a bit of my own mindfulness in my own time as I get it at work. Brilliant eh?
EIGHT.
THE other end of the scale is that I get to do a workout some times at work, with classes and sometimes I do sessions with PT clients. I love exercise and any excuse to join in means that I get benefit too. It's win win!
NINE.
I am constantly learning about people in my job, how people behave, habits, how to help heal mind and body, because everyone is so different, every single day is a school day for me, and I love learning.
TEN.
THE most important thing of all. I get to help people gain mental and physical health! That's why I do it, and when I get feedback from a massage client who says they feel amazing, when a PT client loses 2 inches from their waist, when someone who had a phobia no longer has it, all those things make my life better, knowing that I have helped those people. THAT is why I LOVE what I do!
What makes your working day better? Do you do what you love? Let me know!
