I've always loved to blog.
I started blogging way back in about 2010/2011, I wanted to document a 103 mile endurance run that I had planned on the SW Coastpath, and so every training run I photographed, and after the run I would sit down at my desk and tell my story.
I love telling stories, I always have done. I've written an actual book too, called 'Running in Daddy's Footsteps' which you can find on Amazon under my author name, Deborah Wright.
Blogging is the perfect way for me to tell very short stories that will hopefully bring more interest in my business journey. It's also a chance for me to express my creative side legitimately as part of the marketing process!
So, I was recommended a book by my business coach, it's called, 'The little book of content prompts.' by Asha Clearwater. It's a wondrous little book and I've been using this every week now as the inspiration to these weekly blogs. You can use it for marketing posts etc.. but I found that it lent itself to blogging and has encouraged me to get back to it on a regular basis.
So, a big thanks to Tracey Baum my business coach for bringing this book to my attention, and thanks to Asha Clearwater for being inspired enough to write it!
Even I need encouragement to write at times. I am mid-writing a fictional book, well, a collection of short stories, but it's on an exciting topic and it's my way of escaping reality when I'm writing it, so doing something that is potentially 'a bit boring' and 'businessey' needed a push, and the little book was just what I needed. I am slightly concerned that way into the future and I've exhausted the little book, I won't know what to write about, but I am hoping Asha will have written a second one by then!
What I do find amazing is that one simple line, can encourage a whole stream of words and musings. I basically just open the book at a random page, and that is my guide. So this week I opened the page at 'Door' - how content prompts open doors to your creativity.
