Is it time for your own personal MOT and service?
This is a photo of my favourite van, Jessy! She appeared in many online fun competitions over the years until some idiot in a Mini wrote her off. I wanted to use her in this blog because she was such an epic van, I really looked after her, but unfortunately I couldn't predict the accident that happened, same as in life for us, accidents happen.
I've always used the car analogy when it comes to personal training, and as I found out, when in a group meeting with my business coach this week, it can pretty much be used for many work examples.
Today, I want to talk about our relationship with getting things fixed, and I'm using the car again for this. I am actually having a few vehicle issues at the moment so it's at the very front of my mind.
So, you get in a car and drive off without your seat belt on, what happens?
Well, in my Mini, nothing, it has no warning sounds, but most cars these days have a warning sound - putting on your seatbelt, the most important thing to do before driving, because it could save your life!
How can we relate this to our health? What is our essential need? Well, water I suppose, and our warning alarm is thirst. So, keep well hydrated and we won't feel thirst so much, just as we put on the seatbelt before driving off. It's as easy as that, and remember, our body is made up of water, not energy drinks and coca cola! Would you feel safe and happy, trusting your life with a piece of string instead of a seatbelt? Get your priorities right when you come to fundamental health issues.
What about if you get in the car and an engine management warning light comes on?
How long do you ignore it for? The problem could become costly to you if an error leads to permanent damage.
What are your management warning signs?
