Making dreams come true.
Are you ready for another blog about life being too short, and how we have to make the most of every chance given to us? Well, here it is, your weekly dose of 'do all the things!'
On Tuesday 27th February 2024, I walked through the doors of 'The Voice FM' not for the first time, because I had previously been into the studio to be interviewed by Hopps for a 5 marathons in 5 days attempt. But this time, it was all about the learning process, to learn a whole new job for myself, at the age of 49!
I have already blogged this a little, but my journey has continued week by week, doing an hour every Thursday on Hopps' show, getting used to the feel of the desk, being comfortable in my new environment, and getting it right!
I'm still making the odd small mistake here and there, but all in all, I feel comfortable and at home in the studio now, I find that I belong there.
I was soon asked to cover a couple of weekends, covering Amy Dymond's show on a Saturday when she was on holiday, the first time doing over an hour. It was great, and I got to meet some of the other presenters there too. Everyone at The Voice is so friendly and helpful, with little tips of how to be more confident during the show, all the tips!
When I originally spoke to Hopps about the station, I asked if it was possible to be trained for a show on the new 'VOICE 2' the retro station for 60's, 70's and 80's music. I love the music on Voice 2, I suppose it's what I grew up with and it resonates a lot with me. Primarily the radio is all about music, I play music, I'm a musician, I dance to it, choreograph aerobics routines to it, it's a passion of mine, so all this time, learning at the station, I have some amazing news........
Starting this coming Saturday, 17th August, I will have my very own show on THE VOICE 2!
I will be on from 1-3pm playing all the very best tunes from the 60's, 70's and 80's and I cannot wait. So I am telling you all now about it so that you can listen, because music is most definitely for sharing.
The station is digital, on your smart speaker, the app, online, all the usual places, so there is no excuse!
Will you be listening in this Saturday?
