Don't put off adventure.

Some may say this is too soon to be posting about going Skydiving, but this blog isn't about that alone, it's about taking the spirit of adventure with you wherever you are, it's about having an adventure every day if you can.

I am also covering this topic in my podcast next Monday, I do sometimes double up if it's a topic I feel strongly about, so feel free to listen too if you fancy it, it will be on my 'All the things' podcast on Spotify.

When was your last adventure? Was it a big one? Or just an average every day adventure? What do I mean by average every day? Well, I count my morning dog walk as a bit of an adventure sometimes, you never know who you will meet or what will happen, will the tide be right for dog walking? I'm so out there, I don't even check the tide times, sometimes!

My last BIG adventure was the Skydive I did with my husband in May, you can read all about it in my blog about it if you fancy? There are photos too! But I do like to feel that I have an adventure of sorts every day.

I've always loved exploring places, I do this thing, I read road maps and road signs to get places, no satnav, just good old map reading, and when I get lost, instead of stopping and turning around and going back the way I came, I keep on going, following more road signs, eventually getting back on route! In doing so you encounter new places, new views, it's a wonderful and exciting experience, try it!

Do you have a 'bucket list?'

I have a list of nearly 50 things that I want to do, it was going to be 50 things in my 50th year, but the list has got a bit extravagant and won't be completed before the end of the year, number one on the list though was my skydive!

What is stopping you following your dreams and having adventures? Well here is the usual run down -

Money

Time

Other commitments

Lack of support

Well, here's the thing, if you really really want to do it, you will find a way. Set up a go fund me page, start saving, make time, tell others what you want to do, gain their support and also, with some commitments, sometimes you just have to let others down to do what you want to. They have to remember that it's your life and you need to live it, you NEED that adventure.

Make time for even a small adventure once a week, and a big adventure at least once a month! Good luck!

I would also just like to end this blog with some words about the terrible skydiving accident that happened on Friday 13th June at Dunkeswell airfield.

As you can read in my previous blog, I was at that airfield, I jumped with Skydive Buzz and they were so very good, safe and I never questioned once the safety of what I was doing.

Statistically it's rare to have a fatal accident whilst skydiving in the UK, in a 20-year monitored period there were no tandem skydive fatalities in the UK, but as we all know, jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet is a bit risky, and that's why we do it!

As with all things, there are some risks, even every day activities like driving a car or crossing the road.

I would happily do another skydive, yes, I would feel nervous, of course, I wouldn't be human to not feel worried after the accident, but it wouldn't put me off doing it again, so if that was your adventure, then do it!
