Don't let things go to waste
Humans are so wasteful, even more-so these days, everything is convenient because humans are lazy.
I look at our waste every week, even in our own home, and I am super-keen on recycling as much as possible, yet still the recycling boxes are filled with waste, plastic, tins, so much packaging. I even take the soft plastics to the recycle bin at the supermarket every week, I really try my best.
We get our milk from the local farm, I wash out and take our glass bottles up there to refill. I go to the health food shop in town and get supplement, shampoo and soap refills, I really do try my best, but I am only one person, and it seems looking at the bags that the gulls rip open every week that others are not so conscientious.
Everyone bangs on about saving the planet, but how many people really do their best?
I am not a fan of waste, I plan our meals meticulously for the week to avoid any food wastage. I was brought up to eat everything on my plate, so I'm guessing my Mum was the same. We have a food waste container for recycling, peelings go in there, but I hate throwing away un-eaten food from the fridge, it really gets my back up.
Why are humans so wasteful? As I said above, it's a lack of respect for their environment, mother nature and also a large dose of laziness.
You see people going through the fast food drive-ins, paying for stuff that isn't even fit for human consumption, toxins, processed foods, sugars, poison! And then the bags, cups, lids, plastics get dumped at the side of the road out of the car window to spoil nature. Oh, but it's okay because they use paper straws! It makes me mad.
I suppose you can say that today I am having a rant rather than writing a blog, but does anyone else care out there? Are you not worried about how the world is becoming now? How savage humans are? And not the savage fit hunters that we used to be, but fat, lazy, arrogant disrespectful savage humans that don't belong in this beautiful world.
Next time you go to put something in the general waste bin, ask yourself, can I recycle it?
Re-cycle, up-cycle, donate to charity, to the homeless, fix things instead of throwing them away, there are many repair sheds and cafes all around the country that can help, don't be wasteful, be thoughtful, remember that we share our planet with all sorts of wonderful wildlife that rely on us caring for their environment.
Be more thoughtful and less wasteful. Thank you.
