Create precious moments for wonderful memories.

HOW often do you do something that really makes you happy? Do you take every opportunity to do it? I have always gone out of my way to do things that excite me or make me happy, new experiences, new opportunities. Luckily my husband knows this about me and so when tickets for the wonderful Seth Lakeman were available for Exeter Cathedral, and my special 'big' birthday was due, he got them! He isn't a fan of Seth as a rule, although I do believe he likes him more now than he did because of seeing how epic he is. HE wanted to create a happy memory for us both together, a memory that was also a present. Giving the gift of a happy memory is one of the best. DID you know that you only remember things once as they truly were? Your other memories of it, are just memories of the first memory you had! Confused? Well, when I first looked back at my wonderful evening on the journey back from Exeter, that was the first and only true memory of the event. The next time I remembered, it w...

Today I have another little Zen lesson to write about. The original lesson talks about chasing clouds, how we may be tempted to chase them on hot days, or to stop work in hope that the cooling cloud will move over us when working in the hot sun.  The fact is, that the cloud may never reach you, or be reached. We know that nature does it's own thing, is unpredictable, so we cannot rely on the cloud's movement. What do we do then?  Well, that's easy, we continue on with our task, it may well take our mind off the heat, the job will be done, and maybe, if we are lucky, the cloud will come and cool us, or we will have finished our task quickly and can go into the shade. But what does this actually mean in terms of a life lesson? Well, to use another well-used expression - 'Make hay while the sun shines.' Do what you have to do while the circumstances are right. Don't waste time procrastinating that the time isn't right, it may never feel right to you, do it whi...

What is love?

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! We have changed the meaning of this day over the years, mostly for commercial gain, as with everything, but do you actually know why we celebrate love on February 14th every year? It all came about in the 3rd Century AD, and actually the story isn't completely clear in facts, some say there were two priests called Valentine and some say only one. And also, the 'love letter' isn't a given as being true either, but here it is. Emperor Claudius II executed a priest named Valentine, this priest possibly wrote a love letter to a roman girl while in jail, and that's pretty much it! And now, every year men, mostly feel the pressure of showering their loved one with gifts, flowers, cards and balloons, because of this one story, that may, or may not be true. We celebrate love because a priest was executed in the 3rd century on the 14th February! Madness! And yet, if you don't take part in it, well, it's just not done is it? You have ...

Read, listen and watch.

IF you are reading this now, you probably read my blogs all the time, that's how it works. Rarely people only read one, unless that one blog is relevant to them. YOU read my blogs, because they are short, most probably, and sometimes a bit funny, and because I am open and honest about all the topics I write about. You know that you will always get my true opinion, and that I have researched any facts completely before writing. That's what I do and who I am. That's why you engage with me. RECENTLY I have launched a podcast! SO far, only a few people have listened, and they have only listened to the intro podcast and the first one, next week I am on episode eleven. I need to work on my marketing skills to increase my fan base but I don't know how, or even if it's that important? I see the podcast as a similar thing to my blog, someone may listen, just as someone may read. But I don't know who does, or how it impacts their life unless they give me feedback and tel...
