Learning, as an adult.
WE are never too old to learn new things! Whether it's a new job, a new recipe, a new exercise or sport, we CAN keep learning if we have the will to do so.
I LOVE learning! I am on a continuous development programme adding new wellness skills to my work all the time. When I finish one diploma, I start a new one. At school, I was okay in the subjects I enjoyed, like most of us I would say, and so music, PE, art and English I passed reasonably. But as you can see, there is a practical or creative element to all of those subjects, and that is what inspires me.
LEARNING as an adult is great, because you get to choose what you learn! At school you have to do certain subjects, I remember choosing my 'options' but sadly the options were from an already chosen set of classes. But learning as an adult, you can learn what you want, when you want. Imagine that freedom eh?
SO far since school, and this is not a comprehensive list, I am sure I have missed some things....
Hairdressing, animal care, veterinary nursing, grounds maintenance practical plus training and assessor quals, contract manager, health and safety auditing, QA auditing, personal trainer, fire service, hypnotherapy, reflexology, indian head massage, massage, menopause coach, life coach, nutrition upgrade (from pt nutrition) canine massage.
AND, when I've completed canine massage I am going to start my 200 hour yoga qualification!
AND then......whatever else will help me!
SELF-improvement is so very important if we want to get on in life, particularly if you are self-employed like I am. People say to me, 'oh, you do so many things' but actually they all work together for my goal, 'Total mind and body wellness!' That's my business and what I strive for in my own life and those who I help every week.
AND the more skills I have in my business, the more sustainable my business is so I can keep it going!
WHY learn? Because I can, because I love learning, because I get bored easily?
USE YOUR BRAIN! Keep your cognitive function working fully through your life, use it or lose it as they say!
WHAT are you learning?
